Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
 Configures local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) components,
including firewalls, routers, switches, and hubs to meet business requirements.
 Monitors network performance and implements software patches and hardware
changes to optimize performance and resolve deficiencies.
 Provides in-depth technical troubleshooting and diagnosis of all network components.
Identifies network related issues and correct deficiencies. Coordinates hardware and
software service providers in scheduling preventive maintenance, upgrades, and
repairs, and maintains records of these activities. May provided back up to 24x7
network Operations team.
 Contributes to physical and logical voice and data network planning and design.
Identifies resources to address performance, reliability, and security requirements.
Promotes design standardization to facilitate maintenance and troubleshooting.
 Develops, designs, analyzes, enhances and documents global enterprise network with
both carrier end enterprise class requirements. Installs and maintains network
operating and diagnostic hardware and software. Maintains inventory of deployed and
spare hardware.
 Responds to trouble calls regarding network outages and performance degradation.

networking framework. Provides problem resolution guidance to remote Infrastructure
Support personnel as required.
 Provides technical leadership and direction as a primary technical resource on internet
protocol router network technologies.
 Analyzes network design and traffic flows for network optimization and consolidation
opportunities to forecast network capacity requirements.
 Conducts testing of network design and failover. Makes recommendations for
improvements as required.
 Keeps abreast of new technologies and principles by conducting research, attending
seminars, educational workshops, classes and conferences; reviewing professional
publications; establishing networks; participating in professional societies; conferring
with representatives of contracting agencies and related organizations.
 Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.
 Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field plus three (3) years’ work
experience in WAN design, deployment, maintenance, and support. Valid driver’s license.
Must meet all knowledge, skills and abilities. No felony, theft or stealing convictions.
Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background
investigation, obtain and maintain gaming license. Navajo preference.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
 Knowledge of types of Network Equipment.
 Knowledge of design of WAN/LAN.
 Knowledge of business English, proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation, and basic
arithmetic.
 Skill in operating various word-processing, spreadsheets, and database software
programs in a Windows environment, specifically Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
 Skill in planning, organizing and coordinating information technologies and prioritizing
work activities in accordance with established goals and objectives.
 Project management skills.
 Skill in analyzing problems, projecting consequences, identifying solutions, and
implementing recommendations.
 Skill in budget preparation and administration.
 Skill in preparing, reviewing, and analyzing operational, technical and financial reports.
 Ability to identify systems, operation, technical or applications problems and to initiate
and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
 Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
 Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying
social and cultural backgrounds.
 Ability to maintain confidentiality.
 Ability to analyze situations and adopt appropriate courses of action.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is may be required to sit for
prolonged periods, walk; stand; use hands for dexterity of motion; stoop, bend, kneel or
crouch, and have normal auditory and verbal communications skills. The employee must
occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment:
Work is generally performed in an office setting with a moderate noise level. Occasional
work is performed in a Casino setting with exposure to second-hand smoke and a
moderate noise level. Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required. Tight time
constraints and multiple demands are common. Travel may be required.
