Installs and maintains DSOs, T1s, PRIs, DS3s, and Ethernet circuits. Also, responsible for maintenance and care of CO batteries and Rectifiers. Must be available for 24X7 callouts and emergency situations including holidays.\n\nGeneral Duties: \nDuties include, but are not limited to, the following: \n\u2022 Driving: Moderate \n\u2022 Travel: Moderate \n\u2022 Diagnose and repair faults in digital central office equipment \n\u2022 Repair, test, run jumpers and verify connections on Main Distribution Frame (MDF) \n\u2022 Install, maintain, update and document special circuits and facilities \n\u2022 Install, maintain and repair Central office Equipment that provides Voice Data, ISDN Circuits, XDSL, Video, VoIP and Data Networking \n\u2022 Become familiar with/learn the operation of equipment and technologies (existing and new) \n\u2022 Work with field technicians to test and resolve customer problems, provide information to complete jobs, work orders and service orders, coordinate with assignments as needed \n\u2022 Process repair and return of electronic circuit cards/equipment \n\u2022 Interface with internal/external customers in a professional manner to coordinate and disseminate information to complete job assignments and attain service objectives \n\u2022 Support and actively participate in promotion of company products and services \n\u2022 Works independently and urgently while being a team player \n\u2022 Looks at current processes and procedures and provides input to improve the result \n\u2022 Building security and housekeeping \n\u2022 Aids and assist other departments and contractors as required \n\u2022 Performs all other duties/assignments as required by supervisor\n\nBasic Qualifications: \n\u2022 High School Diploma or equivalent \n\u2022 Experience in telecommunications and Central Office \n\u2022 Basic keyboard and software skills \n\u2022 Basic Math Skills \n\u2022 Must be proficient at installing, maintaining and repairing central office equipment \n\u2022 Must have basic knowledge of NTI, DMS, host and remote product line, T-carrier, fiber optic and special circuits \n\u2022 Must have basic knowledge of voice Data, ISDN Circuits, DSL, Video and Data Networking Products \n\u2022 Some markets may require basic knowledge of 5ESS, GTD-5 AND DWDM transport \n\u2022 Network+ and A+ certification preferred \n\u2022 Ability to work independently and desire to work \u0027face-to-face\u0027 with customer \n\u2022 Must have successfully completed AC/DC \u0026 Basic Electronics/Digital Electronics screening or have equivalent certification \n\u2022 Valid driver\u0027s license and satisfactory driving record; CDL preferred \n\u2022 Must be available for flexible scheduling, holidays, after hours, call-outs and emergency situations 24/7 \n\u2022 TESTS: Results obtained in standard tests for this position must meet minimum requirements established by the Company, in accordance with Company policy\n\nPhysical Requirements: \nMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds; must be able to distinguish colors; must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods on a regular basis, bending and stooping will be required occasionally; must be able to work aloft from a ladder; must be able to work in confined spaces and isolated areas; ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions; good oral and written communication skills\n\nTools and Equipment Used: \n\u2022 Hand tools \n\u2022 Loop care \n\u2022 4-TEL \n\u2022 Laptop/Desktop \n\u2022 OTDR \n\u2022 Light meter \n\u2022 Ethernet test set \n\u2022 Various other testing equipment\n\n \n\n \nWe are deeply committed to attracting talented team members in the US from all backgrounds regardless of race, age, gender, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, disability status, or nationality.
