Description
Time Surgical Scheduler to join our team in our Walnut Creek office. This position is ideal for an individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, where multi-tasking skills are key. The Surgical Scheduler will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the surgical scheduling process, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for our patients and surgical staff. You will have a high degree of responsibility and independence.
Responsibilities:
· Schedule surgical procedures, including coordinating with surgeons, patients, operating room staff, and other departments.
· Verify patient insurance information and obtain necessary authorizations and pre-certifications.
· Communicate effectively with patients regarding pre-operative instructions, scheduling details, and any necessary follow-up appointments.
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system (EPIC).
· Manage and prioritize scheduling changes and cancellations, ensuring minimal disruption to the surgical schedule.
· Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure all necessary equipment, supplies, and documentation are available for each procedure.
· Provide exceptional customer service to patients, addressing their questions and concerns with empathy and professionalism.
· Respond to patient calls.
· Perform prior authorizations.
· Perform data entry.
· Perform scanning and faxing.
· Assist with other administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
· Excellent customer service/interpersonal skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Strong computer skills
· Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
· Electronic Health Records experience
· Strong knowledge of medical terminology, surgical procedures, and insurance processes.
· Exceptional organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities.
· Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Bilingual-Spanish
· Experience with surgical scheduling.
· Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical record

Pay Scale/Ranges:
$22.00-$44.50/hour (and the hourly equivalent for salaried employees).*
