Cover Supervisor – Secondary School in Brentwood

A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Brentwood is seeking a confident and reliable Cover Supervisor to join their supportive team. This role would be particularly well suited to a Graduate, Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or aspiring teacher looking to gain valuable hands-on experience working with young people in a secondary school environment.

About the Role

As a Cover Supervisor in Brentwood, you will:

• Supervise classes across a range of subjects in the absence of the regular classroom teacher


• Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and ensure students remain engaged with their learning


• Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a calm, positive learning environment


• Support students in completing assigned work and encourage them to work independently


• Establish positive and professional relationships with students


• Follow school policies and procedures relating to behaviour, safeguarding and student welfare


• Provide feedback to teaching staff on students' engagement, behaviour and progress


• Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff and the wider school team


• Support the smooth running of the school day and contribute to a positive school culture
