Senior Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster

Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster to join a team. This role involves handling workers’ compensation claims of medium complexity and severity, including litigated files. The ideal candidate will possess strong litigation skills, jurisdictional expertise, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. This position offers the flexibility of a hybrid work environment (onsite Tuesdays and Wednesdays) if located near one of our office locations, or the option to work 100% remotely.

Compensation Package

• Hourly Rate: $40-$45/hour


• Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire


• Start Date: Immediate

Responsibilities

• Investigate and analyze workers’ compensation claims of medium complexity/severity, including litigated files, to ensure proper resolution.


• Collaborate and communicate effectively with agents, policyholders, and internal stakeholders.


• Review and interpret commercial insurance policies to determine coverage and compensability.


• Develop and execute proactive plans of action to conclude claims, evaluate damages, and negotiate settlements.


• Establish and maintain accurate reserves to reflect financial exposure.


• Engage and manage external resources as needed while monitoring and controlling associated costs.


• Collaborate with legal counsel to manage litigated claims.


• Maintain compliance with jurisdictional requirements and company guidelines.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.


• Experience: Minimum of 3 years handling workers’ compensation indemnity claims of medium complexity/severity.


• Licensing: Must be licensed to handle claims in Arizona, Utah, Texas, and Colorado. Arizona certification is required.


• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Guidewire (Claims Center) is a plus.


• Certifications: AIC or SLA certification preferred.


• Skills: Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.


• Equipment: Must have access to a personal computer.
