Senior Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster

Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster to join a team. This role involves managing workers’ compensation claims of medium complexity and severity, including litigated files. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a proactive approach to claims resolution, and the ability to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Compensation Package

• Salary Range: $85,000 - $95,000+ (depending on experience)


• Work Arrangement: Hybrid (if near one of the office locations) or fully remote

Responsibilities

• Investigate and analyze workers’ compensation claims of medium complexity/severity, including litigated files, to ensure proper resolution.


• Collaborate and communicate effectively with agents, policyholders, and internal stakeholders.


• Review and interpret commercial insurance policies to determine coverage and compensability.


• Develop and execute action plans to proactively resolve claims, evaluate damages, and negotiate settlements in a timely manner.


• Establish and maintain accurate reserves to reflect financial exposure.


• Engage and manage external resources as needed while monitoring and controlling associated costs.


• Collaborate with legal counsel to manage litigated claims.


• Maintain compliance with state licensing requirements and company guidelines.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.


• Minimum of 3 years of experience handling workers’ compensation indemnity claims of medium complexity/severity.


• Jurisdictional expertise in Tennessee is required; experience with Mississippi claims is preferred.


• Active state licensing for Tennessee and other applicable states.


• Certification in AIC or SLA is preferred.


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Guidewire (Claims Center) is a plus.


• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent verbal and written communication abilities.


• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.


• Willingness to travel overnight up to 10% and daily between locations as needed.


• Must have access to a personal computer for remote work.
