New Patient Coordinator

Beacon Clinic was founded for the purpose of delivering a level of care that we, as a team, can all be proud of. We were founded in 2018 by Dr. David Bartels, focusing on cancer and blood conditions. Today, we provide care services to not only Medical Oncology and Hematology, but Radiation Oncology, and Rheumatology patients as well. We are also dedicated to advancing the field by engaging in clinical research and offering our patients the opportunity to participate in various clinical trials.

Duties Include:

• Receives all new patient referrals, builds charts, circulates new patient forms, and works closely with the front office supervisor to monitor the status of referrals.


• Calls patients when referrals are received to obtain insurance details and any missing patient information needed to complete the chart.


• Provides initial insurance information to the preauthorization team.


• Contacts referring providers and other pertinent facilities to gather additional records required before the patient is seen.


• Maintains tracking systems for new patient referrals, including the unscheduled appointments list and daily/monthly referral summaries, to ensure timely scheduling.


• Functions as back-up front office support, assisting with patient check-in and participating in phone triage throughout the day.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Experience in a medical office is strongly preferred.


• Experience in a front office position or other administrative duties a must.


• Compassionate and caring bedside manner.


• Strong written and verbal communication skills.


• Ability to work extremely well in a group setting.
