The City of New Port Richey is seeking a dynamic and innovative Information Technology Director to serve in a key role on the city’s leadership team and to lead the information technology functions within the city’s operations. Known for its cultural heritage and unique riverfront landscape, the City of New Port Richey is largely a residential community with a strong local government and an attractive, revitalized downtown with a broad array of business and retail services. The city is located in Florida’s Central Gulf Coast, approximately thirty miles northwest of Tampa.
Under the direct supervision of the City Manager, the Director will be responsible to perform a wide variety of complex technical as well as administrative tasks managing all aspects of department operations to include the development of new technical solutions as well as the support and maintenance of existing applications and development. In addition, the IT Director will be tasked to improve both the internal and external user experience with the city’s information technology systems.
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems/Technology, Management Information Services, Computer Science, or a closely related field. Candidates should have at least 6-8 years of progressively responsible experience managing information technology systems in a Windows environment, including several years of current supervisory experience. The Department is currently staffed with 8 FTEs.
