New Product R&D Formulation Specialist

Overall Responsibilities

The primary purpose of this position is specifications, methods and formulations development of nutraceutical products including capsules, powders, tablets, liquid, liquid gel capsules, and gummies. Assist with formulation and process development of nutraceutical products from project inception through transfer to commercial process validation. 

Requirements

• Assist the senior formulator in formulation of nutraceutical capsules, tablets, and powder at correct dosages with excipients to ensure proper filling on machines (40%)
• Assist with development, testing and standardization of all ingredients and excipients (35%)
• Perform testing, verification, revisions of formulas and process methods (5%)
• Prepare documents for batch records, SOPs and report (5%)
• Responsible for calculations and/or testing to determination of Nutritional Supplement facts panel for new and existing re-formulated products (1%)
• Responsible for research and determination of Allergens in new and existing re-formulated products (3%)
• Maintain detailed information on development projects and sample receipt (3%)
• Develop and/or review protocols, plans, scripts, reports, associated with the products development and reformulation (3%)
• Ensure on-track completion laboratory projects by supporting and maintaining forward movement (3%)
• Possess and maintain a high level of expertise in current regulatory requirements (2%)

Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or similar field and 36 months of experience in a food scientist or similar position in the pharmaceutical or nutraceutical industry. 

Experience must include: Master Control, risk management, and experimental design.
