Job Description - New Product Transition Manufacturing Engineer II Etch- (E2S) 2nd Shift
This role is for 2nd shift (4pm - 12am).\n\nEtch Manufacturing is hiring a New Product Transition (NPT) Manufacturing Engineer to support the successful launch of next-generation products into high-volume manufacturing. This hands-on, detail-driven role is critical to ensuring that designs are ready for scalable manufacturing and that operational issues are proactively solved before a product ramp.\n\nYou\u2019ll work closely with the NPT Project/Program Manager and cross-functional teams to translate new product designs into efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality manufacturing processes.\n\n\\---\n\nWhat You\u2019ll Do\n\nAs an NPT Manufacturing Engineer, you will be at the core of our new product introduction efforts\u2014driving manufacturing readiness, process optimization, and early issue resolution during pilot and initial production builds.\n\nYour key responsibilities include:\n\n\u2022 Engineer the Process: Develop, implement, and maintain methods and process flows to build complex assemblies efficiently and with high quality.\n\n\u2022 Support Pilot and Volume Builds: Partner with the NPT PM to execute pilot and volume builds, incorporating feedback from manufacturing, quality, and test teams to close gaps and improve readiness.\n\n\u2022 Optimize for Production: Apply DFx principles to reduce costs, simplify assembly, and improve quality and serviceability.\n\n\u2022 Collaborate Across Teams: Interface with Design Engineering, Supply Chain, Test Engineering, and Quality to align on manufacturing requirements and execute on readiness plans.\n\n\u2022 Drive Engineering Change: Launch and implement engineering changes that support product maturation and improve manufacturability.\n\n\u2022 Analyze and Improve: Gather operational data, lead root cause investigations, and implement corrective actions to eliminate recurring issues.\n\n\u2022 Design for Test: Assist in defining test specifications and procedures.\n\n\u2022 Document and Standardize: Support development and maintenance of work instructions, build documentation, and process standards.\n\n\u2022 Mitigate Risk: Support risk analysis during design reviews to identify failure points before they impact production.\n\n\u2022 Support the Line: Engage directly with technicians and assemblers on the floor to resolve issues in real time during builds.\n\n\\---\n\nWhat You Bring\n\nWe\u2019re looking for a curious and collaborative engineer who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys solving real-world manufacturing challenges.\n\nRequired Qualifications:\n\n\u2022 Practical experience with assembly, tooling, and/or test of mechanical and/or electro-mechanical systems.\n\n\u2022 Familiarity with engineering change processes and product lifecycle management tools.\n\n\u2022 Solid understanding of DFx (Design for Manufacturing, Assembly, and Test).\n\n\u2022 Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze test data and operational performance.\n\n\u2022 Comfortable collaborating cross-functionally in a team environment.\n\n\u2022 Bachelor\u2019s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.\n\nPreferred Skills:\n\n\u2022 Experience supporting pilot or volume builds in a complex manufacturing environment.\n\n\u2022 Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems.\n\n\u2022 Hands-on experience working on the manufacturing floor with technicians or assemblers.\n\n\u2022 Exposure to semiconductor capital equipment or complex system integration is a plus.\n\n\\---\n\nWhy Etch Manufacturing?\n\nYou\u2019ll be part of a high-impact, collaborative team that\u2019s shaping the future of manufacturing.
