Job Summary/Description:

KATC is looking for an experienced News Producer to join our award-winning newsroom. We're seeking a creative journalist with strong news judgment, exceptional writing skills, and a passion for producing engaging, impactful newscasts that keep our viewers informed and connected to the communities we serve.

We're looking for a producer with strong news judgment and a passion for storytelling. In this role, you'll produce engaging, accurate, and visually compelling newscasts, make sound editorial decisions, and lead coverage of breaking and developing news. You'll collaborate with reporters, anchors, photographers, digital producers, and newsroom managers to create content that is timely, relevant, and impactful while coordinating live shots, graphics, video, and other production elements. The ideal candidate thrives under deadline pressure, embraces teamwork, and is committed to serving viewers with meaningful local journalism.

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field preferred, or equivalent newsroom experience.
- Strong news judgment and excellent writing, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to perform well under deadline pressure and during breaking news coverage.
- Familiarity with newsroom computer systems and broadcast production workflows.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
