**What We Need:**
We are seeking a good news writer, focused and driven to seek out stories. Able to anchor radio newscasts with a good voice, clear speech, and conversational reading style.
**What You'll Do:**
+ Anchor Newscasts for multiple markets
+ Maintain crucial deadlines in order to provide news stories in a timely fashion.
+ Write clear and concise news copy Produce, edit and write content for 24/7 Newswire.
+ Gather audio from press conferences, live events, and partner TV stations.
+ Produce, edit and write content for 24/7 Newswire.
+ Monitor sources for breaking news, e.g., wires and social media.
+ Must have general knowledge of all current events including but not limited to political, entertainment, sports, finance or military.
+ Finalize content using digital audio editing software.
+ Produce short-form reports (voicers/wraps) for anchors on the following shift.
+ Repackage content from producers and field reporters for newscasts.
+ May be called on to anchor breaking news reports as needed.
+ May produce features and interviews as assigned.
+ Other duties as assigned
**What You'll Need:**
Skills and Qualifications
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and social networking platforms
+ Clear, pleasant, and well-controlled voice; excellent pronunciation
+ Personable, charismatic reading style and delivery
+ Ability to accept coaching and adapt to energetic and contemporary news style and delivery
+ Well-rounded communication skills for conducting interviews
+ Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
+ Excellent contemporary writing, wordsmithing, and editing skills; proficient in grammar
+ Strong attention to detail
+ Proficient in media production and broadcast systems
+ Ability to plan and organize, set priorities, use critical thinking skills for story selection, and able to multi task in a fast-paced environment
+ Proficiency in Spanish a bonus
Work Experience:
**1+ years’ experience in on-air journalism preferred**
​Education:
**4-year college degree preferred in Broadcast Journalism or Communications; current student will be considered.**
