PURPOSE

The Next Steps Director helps people move from first-time guest to fully engaged disciple at Chapel Pointe. This role fosters a culture of hospitality, intentional relationships, and spiritual next steps through connection, volunteer engagement, and biblical community. In partnership with Chapel Pointe ministry teams and sites, this leader ensures environments are welcoming, people are known, and discipleship pathways are clear. Success in this role requires a strong grasp of Chapel Pointe’s beliefs, values, and strategy, along with the ability to align volunteers and key leaders with its vision

Reports to: Community Pastor, Department Lead

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Champion a culture of discipleship through connections and hospitality that reflects the heart of discipleship.


• Oversee first impressions teams (greeters, ushers, welcome center) to create a welcoming and spiritually aware environment.


• Develop and maintain systems to help people discover their spiritual gifts and take next steps into serving and biblical community.


• Build and lead processes for follow-up with guests, regular attenders, and those exploring deeper engagement.


• Coordinate and support volunteer development across ministries, ensuring alignment with Chapel Pointe’s vision and strategy.


• Collaborate with small group leaders and ministry teams to help individuals find places of belonging and spiritual growth.


• Partner with Chapel Pointe sites to support consistent connection strategies and discipleship pathways.


• Oversee the Next Steps Class experience and with clarity and care.


• Track and monitor engagement metrics using church management tools (e.g., CHMS) to inform decision-making.


• Train and support leaders to own connection ministry in their areas, multiplying impact across teams.


• Celebrate and encourage volunteers regularly, cultivating a strong, mission-minded culture.
  

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree required; Seminary degree preferred 


• Minimum 3 years of ministry experience


• Effective communicator, team builder and equipper 


• Highly relational and approachable, with a gift for connecting people and building authentic community
