Job Description - NextGen Coordinator

                                                                    NEXTGEN COORDINATOR


REPORTS TO: Co-Founder                                                                         FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt


 


SCHEDULE: 8am-5pm and On-Call as needed           


                                                                                                       


POSITION SUMMARY: The NextGen Coordinator position is responsible for all day-to-day NextGen Program, afterschool activities and youth development programs on behalf of Revive, delivering on key metrics, public relations, church partnerships, and building from the ground up a successful program that serves the at-risk youth of Jessamine County. One important and primary task will be to focus on identifying and connecting with our target audience of children (K-5th) of single parents and inter-generational households living within Jessamine County. This position collaborates with internal departments to assist in creating a dynamic after school program as well as implementing The Positivity Project as a resource of character growth and development. 


This position requires excellent communication and networking skills, knowledge, and passion for helping the next generational youth of our county, along with the ability to work independently while managing tasks and meeting deadlines. Must be able to work cross-culturally with individuals from all backgrounds. This position works closely with the Co-Founder and Director of Development with a posture of partnership and collaboration.


 


GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:


 


I. Supervision of Staff and Volunteers



  • Provide leadership and perform all associated supervisory duties with assigned staff/volunteers.

  • Coordinate work scheduling with CGRC team and all volunteers to ensure assigned initiatives meet established goals.

  • Recruit / Build a team of volunteers to implement and execute to after school program and positivity project.

  • Assist NextGen volunteers in problem solving and be available for coaching the team.

  • Provide direct support and supervision to all volunteers.

  • Establish proper protocols for the NextGen program within the Common Ground Resource Center.


 


 II. General Administration



  • Assist in oversight of NextGen program budget.

  • Assist in setting, evaluating, and measuring initiative goals and action plans.

  • Assist in providing general administrative direction to NextGen programs to maximize efficiency and the quality of work, providing a consistently high level of service to each initiative constituent.

  • Maintain communication with the CEO and Director of Development regarding program.

  • Staff Report on assigned areas of responsibility on weekly basis.

  • Ensure timely completion and submission of all reports.

  • Ensure all children, youth, and volunteers engaging in NextGen programs complete proper registration and waivers for all activities and trips.

  • Other duties as assigned.


 III. Program Development, Implementation, and Tracking



  • Develop and implement NextGen programming including but not limited to after school programs, tutoring programs, in-school mentoring, reading programs, etc.

  • Implement and be an ambassador for The Positivity Project.

  • Recruit students for all youth development programs.




BACKGROUND/ EDUCATION: 



  1. Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, non-profit management, or health and human services p

  2. Additional certifications or training within the education industry


 


QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:



  1. Must have knowledge of medical privacy and confidentiality (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act [HIPAA]);

  2. Proficient with computer applications/software to include Microsoft Office programs/ MS Outlook (e- mail), and internet.

  3. Travel is required for this position, must have a valid driver's license with driving record that meets company insurance requirements.

  2. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills demonstrating clarity and on-target messaging for a variety of audiences.

  5. Ability to work with minimal supervision using independent judgment for decision making, as well as work cooperatively with other staff, volunteers, donors, and clients.



WORKING CONDITIONS:


Physical Demands:


The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.


Must be able to sit, stand, bend, reach overhead and lift up to 10 pounds; travel outside of the office and/or attend meetings both during and after normal work hours, both at and away from the work site.  Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. May involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.  Requires about 6 hours of sitting and no more than 2 hours of standing or walking in an 8-hour workday. Stooping is required frequently.


Environmental Conditions:


The employee will work indoors in an office/classroom setting with central heating and air conditioning.  The facility is open and ventilated well with central heating and air conditioning.  The person may work outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions during times of community activities for clients.


Mental Demands:


There are several daily deadlines associated with this position, which may cause significant levels of stress for some individuals.  The position must deal with the clients, staff, and insurance representatives daily on a variety of issues. 


WORK EXPECTATIONS:



  1. Minimum of 40 hours per week.

  2. Must be able to work well with other staff and clients.

  3. Local and surrounding area travel required.

  4. Willing to work occasional weekends or evenings; with allowable flex time during week.
