As a Night Auditor, you’ll take on a variety of responsibilities, from reconciling the day’s financial transactions to addressing late-night guest inquiries. Guided by the General Manager, you’ll ensure our guests feel welcome and supported even during the overnight hours. You’re not just balancing the books; you’re creating peace of mind. Your role is vital in ensuring accurate records and a seamless transition for the morning staff. You’ll also handle light cleaning duties and security checks. You’ll be working your magic on a seasonal basis at both the Bar Harbor Grand Hotel and the Acadia Inn in Bar Harbor, Maine. This position is 32 hours per week with overnight shifts from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.—Monday through Wednesday at the Bar Harbor Grand Hotel, and Thursday through Friday at the Acadia Inn. The starting wage is $20 per hour.

Here are some more details:

Essential Duties

• Reconcile daily financial transactions and prepare reports.
• Welcome and assist late-night guests with check-ins, check-outs, and inquiries.
• Monitor and respond to phone calls and emails.
• Perform light cleaning duties and ensure the lobby and other common areas are tidy.
• Conduct security checks to ensure the safety of guests and staff.
• Prepare and set up breakfast service for early risers.
• Collaborate with the Front Office and other departments as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills Required

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Comfortable with basic accounting tasks and using hotel management software (training provided).
• Flexibility to adapt to varying tasks and schedules.

Education and Experience

• Previous experience in hospitality, accounting, or night audit roles is a plus, but not required. We will train the right candidate.

Performance Measurement

• 90-day performance review, guest feedback, and collaboration with the team.
