Job Description - Night Auditor

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Tracks room revenues, occupancy percentages and other front office operating
statistics.
• Prepares a summary of cash, check and credit card vouchers.
• Verifies all account posting and balances made during the day by Front Desk Agents.
• Monitors the current status of coupon, discount, and other promotional programs.
• May fulfills the duties of a Front Desk Agent in terms of check-in and check-out
procedures.
• Posts room charges and taxes to guest accounts.
• Processes guest charge vouchers and credit card vouchers.
• Posts guest charge purchase transactions not posted by the Front Desk Agents.
• Transfers charges and deposits to master accounts.
• Obtains bank before shift and ensures it balances.
• Summarizes results of operations for management.
• Maintains a good communication with co-workers and maintains a positive and
professional work environment.
• Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
• Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED plus one (1) year of hotel front desk experience, cash
handling experience and/or accounting procedures. Must meet all knowledge, skills and
abilities. Must be eighteen (18) years of age for Arizona properties and twenty-one (21)
years of age for New Mexico properties. No felony, theft or stealing convictions. Must

be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background
investigation, obtain and maintain gaming license. Navajo preference.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Knowledge of principles of auditing, balancing, and closing out accounts.
• Knowledge of performing Hotel check-in and checkout procedures.
• Knowledge of business English, proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, and basic
arithmetic.
• Knowledge of cash management principles and/or procedures.
• Skill in operating computers, posting machines, typewriters and front office
equipment.
• Skill in operating business computers and office machines, including in a Windows
environment, specifically Word, Excel, Access, presentation software (such as
PowerPoint), and PC-based computerized accounting software.
• Skill in preparing financial reports.
• Skill in phone etiquette.
• Skill in records maintenance.
• Skill in account balancing.
• Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
• Ability to read, sort, check, count, and verify numbers.
• Ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying
social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels.
• Ability to be welcoming and courteous.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently and meet strict time lines.
• Ability to work with figures and be detail oriented.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is may be required to sit or stand
for prolonged periods, walk; use hands for dexterity of motion; stoop, bend, kneel or
crouch, and have normal auditory and verbal communications skills. The employee must
occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment:
Work is generally performed in an office and Hotel setting a moderate noise level.
Evening and/or weekend work may be required. Extended hours and irregular shifts may
be required. Tight time constraints and multiple demands are common.
