Job Description - Night Manager

Description

OBJECTIVE: The Night Manager is responsible for overseeing evening and late-night operations, ensuring a safe, seamless, and high-quality experience for guests, members, and staff. This role serves as the primary point of contact for after-hours concerns, including guest requests, emergency response, and operational oversight. The Night Manager acts as a central coordinator, ensuring smooth communication between departments and maintaining the Ranch’s high service standards through the evening hours. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Guest & Member Services

• Act as the primary point of coordination for all evening guest requests, ensuring they are addressed promptly by delegating tasks to the appropriate departments.

• Regularly check in with guests and members to ensure exceptional service. 

• Respond to guest concerns and emergencies (e.g., medical issues, no heat, fire alarms). 

o Create and follow-up Guest Incident Reports • Work closely with evening teams, including food & beverage, housekeeping, kid's counselors, and ranch hands, to ensure a smooth transition from daytime to nighttime operations and maintain a seamless guest experience.. 

• Oversee the planning and execution of evening entertainment, including scheduling, coordinating staff, setting up, facilitating activities, and ensuring proper cleanup after events 

• Assist with late-night guest check-ins, special requests, and cabin lockouts. 

• Check staffing levels and assist departments as needed. 

• Send "Night Notes" summarizing key events, schedule changes, and department updates. 

Ranch Security & Closing Duties: 

• Conduct nightly walkthroughs of key areas to ensure safety, security, and cleanliness. 

• Secure doors, windows, and equipment in all guest and operational spaces. 

• Turn off lights, heaters, and music as needed while ensuring essential lighting remains on. 

• Inspect for safety hazards (e.g., slip risks, malfunctioning lights) and address or report them. 

• Extinguish outdoor fires 

• Assist the closing ranch hand and bartender with final patio, bar, and common area shutdown. Emergency Response & Safety Compliance: 

• Serve as the primary point of contact for after-hours emergencies. 

• Respond to Answer Connect requests and resolve urgent issues. 

• Enforce liquor license policies, particularly regarding over-intoxicated guests. 

• Monitor and document any staff policy violations related to alcohol or non-prescription drugs. 

• Report all security concerns, accidents, or guest incidents. 

Night Audit & Department Communication: 

• Perform Night Audit tasks to reconcile daily receipts. 

• Utilize Book4time to sign guests up for experiences and activities. 

• Communicate any overnight developments to department managers.


Requirements

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: 

• Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, or security-related roles. 

• Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills. 

•Excellent communication and guest service skills.

• Ability to stay calm under pressure and make quick, effective decisions. 

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint). 

• Ability to work independently and take initiative. 

• Willingness to certify in First Aid and CPR upon hiring. 

• Must be at least 21 years old. 

• Valid driver’s license and insurability under company auto policy. 

Preferred: 

• Experience in hotel front desk, security, or resort night management. 

• Familiarity with Oracle OperaCloud, Simphony, or other hotel PMS/POS systems. 

• Previous experience working in a ranch or resort setting. 

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in a working ranch environment. 

• Must be able to walk on uneven terrain, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 lbs. 

• Requires working evenings, late nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Salary Description

$60,000 plus bonus
