Night Shift Fitter Helper

We are currently hiring a Fitter Helper for a full-time night shift position on a 1-month project. This role supports fitters and welders in a fast-paced industrial setting. Candidates must be dependable, safety-focused, and ready to work overnight hours.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

This position is responsible for the following: Other duties may be assigned.  

1. Assist pipe/structural/plate fitters in the layout, assembly, and installation of structure/plate or pipe. 

2. Clean and prepare construction/production sites, shops, work area, and machines.  

3. Cut or drill holes in walls or floors to accommodate the passage of pipes, structure, or plates. 

4. Cut plate, structure or pipe and lift up to fitters. 

5. Disassemble and remove damaged or worn structure, plate, or pipe. 

6. Fit or assist in fitting valves, couplings, or assemblies to tanks, pumps as well as structure or plates, using hand tools. 

7. Cut, thread, and assemble new pipe, structure or plate placing the assembled pipe, structure or plate in hangers or other supports. 

8. Mount brackets and hangers on walls and ceilings to hold pipes, structure or plate and set sleeves or inserts to provide support. 

9. Performing various support tasks such as cutting, brazing, and grinding as needed. 

Required Education & Experience: 

1. High School Diploma or equivalent 

2. Previous experience as a fitter helper or similar is preferred but not required. 

Working Conditions: 

1. Open-air conditions such as noisy, hot, cold, etc. 

2. Must wear hearing, eye, and head protection. 

3. Some climbing (100 feet or higher) and lifting (50 lbs.) involved. 

4. Working with hot and sometimes hazarous materials. 

5. Traverse gangways and scaffolding at varying heights. 

6. Confined spaces. 

Necessary Equipment Operation: 

1. Cutting Torch 

2. Squares 

3. Levels 

4. Hand and Power Tools 

Special Skills: 

1. Ability to work under time and schedule pressures. 

2. Perform basic mathematical functions. 

3. Tack welding.
