Night Shipping Supervisor

 Position Summary:

The Shipping Supervisor oversees general shipping activities and supervises shipping department personnel. This position ensures that processes for storage and shipping maintain accuracy, completeness, and optimal condition of shipments. The role is essential to support organizational goals and model best practices, guided by our values of Excellence, Accountability, Transparency and Stewardship (EATS). 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

· Ensures shipping employees perform their job responsibilities correctly and safely.

· Supervises and provides direction to shipping employees in the office and cold storage

· Performs shipping floor duties as needed, including driving a forklift.

· Ensures all finished goods are inspected, loaded correctly, and meet requirements for each country fruit is being shipped to.

· Ensures correct product is loaded on the trucks.

· Ensures all employees comply with company policies.

· Communicates with County and USDA inspectors regarding export/import fruit.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

· Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff.

· Oversees the daily workflow of the department.

· Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.

· Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

· Ensures timecards are reviewed and approved properly.

· Partners with safety to promote a positive safety culture.

Qualifications:

· High School Diploma or equivalent

· Bachelor’s degree in business and /or agriculture related major, preferred

· 3+ years of shipping experience

· 1+ years of supervising experience

· Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Famous.

· Forklift Operator Certification

· Bilingual verbal and written English/Spanish
