Lighthouse Lab Services is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) / Medical Technologist overnights for a hospital laboratory in Anderson, South Carolina. This position involves performing clinical laboratory testing to support patient diagnosis and treatment, maintaining laboratory equipment and participating in quality improvement activities.

Position Overview

The Medical Laboratory Scientist / Medical Technologist will perform laboratory testing on patient specimens according to established procedures. Responsibilities include maintaining laboratory instrumentation, supporting quality improvement efforts and assisting with the evaluation and implementation of laboratory testing procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory testing according to established policies and procedures.
• Maintain working knowledge of laboratory equipment and instrumentation within the assigned department.
• Participate in laboratory quality improvement activities.
• Use laboratory information systems and other applicable computer programs.
• Assist with the evaluation, implementation and maintenance of laboratory tests and procedures.
• Support training and evaluation of students, new employee orientation and employee cross-training as assigned.
• Complete required continuing education credits annually.
• Use laboratory supplies and resources responsibly.
• Follow laboratory safety procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Maintain professional conduct and promptly report potential compliance concerns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology.
• MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP) or another nationally recognized registry credential.
• Working knowledge of clinical laboratory testing procedures and instrumentation.
• Ability to use laboratory computer systems and follow established testing procedures.
• Ability to work effectively with laboratory staff and support training activities as assigned.
• Open to new grads

Work Environment

This position involves prolonged standing, frequent walking, bending, reaching and repetitive hand movements. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required. The work is performed in a hospital laboratory with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards. Appropriate personal protective equipment and established safety procedures are required.

Salary, Shift, Benefits

• Salary: Starting at $27.50 base pay
• Shift: Overnights 8pm-6:30am w/ rotating weekend
• Shift Differential: $2.25/hr for weekdays, $5/hr on weekends
• Benefits: 401K, Medical, Dental, and Vision, Generous PTO, Paid Holidays
