Our employees are not only part of history, they\u0027re making history.\n\nNorthrop Grumman\u2019s Space Sector is seeking a Non Destructive Test Technician (NDT) \u2013 Level 2 to join our team in Clearfield, UT. \n\nThese positions within the Quality organization are responsible for critical inspections of aerospace assemblies. For this position, technicians are required to provide prior NDT experience documentation and certification that will meet NAS 410 current revision requirements.\n\nThis position will work a 4/10 schedule, with every Friday off.\n\nThis position will support 24/7 manufacturing. Must have ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays when required.\n\nOccasional travel to our Copper Crossing facility and possible other sites is required.\n\nIn this job, you will:\n\n * Perform non-destructive tests (NDT) on components.\n\n * Inspects metallic and nonmetallic materials, parts and assemblies for defects using automated and manual methods and techniques including radiography, ultrasound, penetrant, eddy current, laser shearography, and magnetic particle.\n\n * The primary focus will be in the area of radiographic inspection (RT) of rocket motors using digital systems and Ultrasonic Testing inspection (UT) of metal and composite components. \n\n * Handling and movement of energetic and non-energetic parts and components is required to perform inspections.\n\n * Other duties as assigned\n\n\n\n\nBasic Qualifications for Level 2:\n\n * High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience. \n\n * No clearance required to start\n\n * Have at least 1 level II certification (RT/UT/ET/MT/PT/LT/etc)\n\n * Must pass the 20/25 Snellen or Jaeger No. 1 vision test for NAS 410 certification\n\n * Must be a U.S. Citizen able to obtain Employee Possessor designation from the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms\u200b\n\n * Perform physical requirements of this position including lifting up to 50 lbs.\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications: \n\n * Eddy Current, Ultrasonic, and Mag Particle Level 2 certifications.\n\n * Experience and familiarity with inspection/interpretation of engineering requirements.\n\n * Experience working with automated radiographic inspection systems.\n\n * Experience with handheld UT pulse echo units (USM GO, USN 60) and or phased array (MX2, Veo).\n\n * Experience with eddy current weld and aluminum tubing inspections (NORTEC 500). \n \nCurious about all the exciting developments with the Northrop Grumman Space Sector? Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
