Job Description - Non-Aviation Programs & Readiness (NPR) Support Specialist

The Mission Concepts and Capabilities Division (MCC) of Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking several full-time Non-Aviation Programs & Readiness (NPR) Support Specialist will serve as the primary point of contact for administrative and readiness programs at the squadron level. Responsibilities include managing administrative support programs, ensuring compliance with AFIs and local SOPs, coordinating mobility and equipment management tasks, and supporting commander directives for unit readiness. This person will provide on-site support to the customer at the following locations:


(1) Shaw AFB
(1) Camp Bullus TX
(1) Davis Monthan AFB


Essential Functions:



  • Serve as the primary POC to the squadron commander/director for administrative support programs (task management, health care, fitness, safety, ADPE accounts, security, supply, and civilian timecard program).

  • Use and prepare documents IAW AFIs/AFMANs and local wing unit SOPs; serve as SME for all mandated administrative support programs.

  • Ensure unit program compliance with regulations, laws, policies, and squadron commander directives.

  • Design communication plans to publicize unit program requirements, policies, and procedures.

  • Serve as a unit liaison to military and civilian personnel offices; access MilPDS, BLSDM, and PRDA.

  • Establish controls and suspense dates; monitor required actions/responses within deadlines.


Prepare and submit paperwork (timesheets, travel orders, file plans, supply requisitions) in coordination with the unit commander/director


Required Skills:



  • Bachelors degree with 0-2 years of experience working in a DoD or USAF squadron-level or higher commander’s, director’s, or similar support staff OR 6-8 years of experience in lieu of a degree

  • Active / Current Secret security clearance

  • 2 years of experience working in a squadron/group/wing supply office or similar Government equipment maintenance position

  • Must be a US citizen


Preferred Skills



  • Active Secret clearance

  • Have recent experience supporting DoD or USAF squadron-level or higher commander’s, director’s, or similar support staff

Compensation & Benefits:


Pay Ranges: From $55,000-$67,000 per year based on location, years of experience, degree and any special skills and knowledge that they may bring to the position.
