Non-CDL Driver

Specialty Metals Corporation is seeking an experienced Non-CDL flatbed driver with at least one year of experience driving flatbed trucks with up to a GVWR of 26,000 pounds and safely securing the loads. We typically deliver regionally up and down the I5 corridor from the Tacoma/Lakewood area to the occasional drop in Bellingham/Ferndale area. Safety will be the number one priority followed by friendly and positive customer service. This position may include shop duties as well. 

Pay range is $23.00 - $30.00 hourly.

To perform the job successfully the candidate should exhibit the following;

• A familiarity with the Puget sound area including the I5 corridor as well as I405 and surrounding areas
• Must have good customer service and communication skills 
• Must observe safety and security procedures and use equipment properly
• Must take pride in taking care of the equipment
• Must possess a current Washington State Driver’s License

Drivers must adhere to all Company, local, state, and federal rules/regulations inclusive of, but not limited to, DOT, OSHA, etc. Specialty Metals Corporation takes pride in being a drug and alcohol free Company. All candidates must possess a valid Washington State Driver’s license, and have at least 1 year of driving experience, High School Diploma or GED Certificate preferred. The candidate must pass a drug test, a 3-year motor vehicle record review, and a criminal background review.

Specialty Metals will also pay for schooling to obtain a Class A CDL. This will include wages and the cost of the schooling (After 90 days of employment, time frame based on scheduling and availability).
