Berger Transfer & Storage is seeking a NON-CDL DRIVER to join our team in San Leandro, CA. Our Driver assists with loading and unloading of the trailers, and move trailers in and out of the docks. They are a key member of our warehouse team, helping with inventory control and other general warehouse duties.

Responsibilities for our Driver include but are not limited to

• Along with another Berger employee, be a part of a delivery team that will provide final mile delivery services with complete furniture installs. Routes will consist of multiple stops.
• Delivery areas will be San Francisco and surrounding cities.
• There will be out of area routes that will be considered multiday, ex. Reno, NV.
• Opportunities for safety / internal yard work (road tests / safety orientation for new drivers)
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications to apply for this role are:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (preferred);
• 1 year warehouse experience is required (Moving & Storage industry experience is highly preferred);
• Basic computer skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, stressful environment;
• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills;
• Strong organizational and time management skills;
• Must be willing and able to pass DOT physical, criminal and MVR background checks;
• Must be able and willing be part of a two man drive team to lift and assemble different types of residential furniture;
• Must be able and willing to perform job with temperature extremes

Physical Requirements for our Warehouse Associate include:

• Stand, walk on non-forgiving surfaces such as concrete, wood, metal (to include fiberglass ramps placed on a 30- degree angle);
• Use of  finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms;
• Climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, twist, crawl and climb stairs;
• Occasionally lift, push, pull and/or move up to 75 pounds without mechanical aid;
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus and accurately read written and computer generated information in English;
• Ability to work in extreme weather environments (both a climate-controlled warehouse and outdoors in all-weather environments and conditions)
