Job Description - Non-Congregate (NCS) Housing Stabilizer


St. Francis Center (SFC), an institution of the Episcopal Diocese of Colorado, was established in 1983.  SFC is a refuge for people experiencing homelessness in the metro Denver area. Our programs and services are tailored toward adults and focus on daytime shelter, social services, health and wellness, housing, employment, outreach and a new program to provide non-congregate shelter operations. In SFC’s services, the people we serve can work with a variety of specialists, depending on their individual needs, to establish the first step toward transformation, new beginnings, and stability. 


Department: Housing and Supportive Services  


Exemption Status: Full-time


Location of work: This program is located at a privately owned hotel, the Comfort Inn (4685 Quebec Street), a 136-unit hotel being leased, and services funded by the City of Denver’s Office of Supportive Housing. We operate 24/7, 365 days a year, rain or shine. Reliable transportation is a must.

POSITION OVERVIEW   


Join our team as a vital member of our Non-congregate Shelter (NCS) program! As an NCS Housing Stabilizer, you'll work closely with our passionate team and under the guidance of our dedicated NCS Director to create a safe, stable, and healing environment for our newly housed guests as they work towards transformation and new beginnings.  


As a Housing Stabilizer, you'll be more than just a team member, you'll be the eyes and ears of our social service team, both for the project and for our newly housed guests. Your presence will ensure that newly housed guests’ needs, safety and housing lease concerns are promptly addressed, while also fostering a client centered approach that promotes growth and positivity. By applying for the full-time position, you have the opportunity to be part of a dynamic and evolving project aimed at making a meaningful impact on the lives of those we serve. Become a Housing Stabilizer today and be part of something truly meaningful! 


RESPONSIBILITIES


Utilize a Critical Time Intervention approach to case management as described in HOST’s CTI Manual.


Stabilizers will receive and support clients referred through HOST’s  Housing Central Command, (HCC)


Stabilizers will conduct an HCC Housing Stability Plan assessment with the client prior to placement in their permanent housing unit.


Attend case conference with other HCC housing providers.


Submit complex client cases to the Denver complex case review.


Transport clients in personal vehicle as necessary.


Enroll clients into HMIS and follow data standards including case notes and client documentation.


Meet with supervisor once a week to discuss CTI stabilization for each household.


Collaborate and communicate effectively with Landlord partners and Housing Connector.


Treats newly housed guests with dignity and respect with a working knowledge of trauma-informed care and cultural competence.


Encourages participation in community resources, services and activities.


Provides critical support and resources to newly housed guests who may be experiencing a crisis and contacts appropriate emergency response as necessary. 


Uses technology for communication, including Microsoft Office products (Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive, Excel, Word) and any other required program (i.e., staff shift scheduling programs).

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS)  


Minimum of bachelor’s degree in social work, social services, or related field preferred. Coursework toward a degree or equivalent credentials will be considered.  


3 years of housing stability relevant work experience may be substituted for formal education.   


Trauma-informed approach or willingness to learn. 


Knowledgeable of rules and regulations for housing choice vouchers and rapid rehousing funding.


Knowledgeable of crisis intervention skills to quickly resolve landlord tenant disputes.


Clean Motor Vehicle Record, carry appropriate car insurance to transport guests as required by the state of Colorado.

Hourly Rate $24 -$26 depending on education/experience
