Our ideal candidate has several years of professional accounting experience, advanced-level knowledge of QuickBooks Online, and strong
proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
This position reports to the Manager of Finance & Accounting.
The position is based in our Medford, MA headquarters, in a wonderful office that boasts spectacular
views and walking trails along the Malden River. Amenities include an on-site café, fitness center, free
shuttle service to the MBTA station, and free parking garage access.
Responsibilities:
Working in a collaborative environment within our Finance & Accounting Team, and with support
from our external service providers for Payroll, 401k, and Tax Accounting (CPA), the Staff
Accountant’s areas of responsibilities include:
• G/L reconciliation
• All company ledgers, accruals, deferrals, and journal entries
• Accounts Payable and credit card expense accounts (Team role)
• Billing and A/R Collections (Team role)
• Cash management / banking
• Payroll (utilizing PEO service provider)
• 401k (utilizing Financial Services provider)
• Month End close (Team role)
• Year End close (Team role, utilizing CPA/Tax accountant)
• Tax payments / compliance
• 1099s
• Budget tracking
• Documentation of procedures
What You Bring to the Table:
• Professional background in accounting and payroll
• Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online, proficient with Microsoft Excel
• Handling of confidential information with tact
• Highly organized and accurate with details
• Ability to work independently with the required discipline, as well as collaboratively within
our team
• Ability to work under tight deadlines with a positive attitude
• Ability to document detailed procedures and evaluate areas for improvements to be brought
to the departmental Manager
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Flexible with change as we continue to improve and streamline our processes
Other Nice to Have Qualifications:
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with QuickBooks Online bank feeds
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or financ
