Job Description - Nonprofit HR and Operations Manager

Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for an experienced Nonprofit HR and Operations Manager for our client, an amazing nonprofit dedicated to supporting low-income students in pursuing higher education in San Francisco, CA.

This position is hybrid and is for immediate hire!

The HR and Operations Manager is part of an executive team, overseeing human resources, facilities, and administrative functions for an organization. They ensure that the organization's infrastructure supports its goals and provides a positive environment for staff while managing growth. Reporting to the Executive Director, they collaborate closely with the administrative team and staff, requiring strong teamwork and communication skills. The ideal candidate is a professional with a calm demeanor, inspires confidence, enjoys building relationships, and excels in managing tasks efficiently in a dynamic environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Human Resources

Manages all HR functions: benefits, recruitment, policies, employee relations, records, workers' comp, and performance management.
Ensures compliance with employment laws and regulations.
Trains managers on employment practices and resolves HR issues.
Supervises HR Coordinator.

Operations

Oversees facility maintenance for safety, compliance, security, and general upkeep.
Supervises Facilities Coordinator.

Administration

Handles insurance requirements.
Supports internal communications for efficiency.
Member of the Executive Administrative team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A passion for advancing childrens access to educational opportunities!
Holds a Bachelors Degree from an accredited university.
Brings three plus years of progressive leadership experience in human resources management, showcasing expertise in employment laws and maintaining high confidentiality standards.
Skilled strategic planner adept at assessing organizational needs and implementing effective internal systems.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate, motivate, guide, and supervise staff effectively.
Comfortable and experienced with technology, particularly skilled in Excel and database management.
Proven capability to manage multiple projects, staff, and priorities simultaneously.
Excellent oral and written communication skills coupled with strong organizational abilities.
Preference for specialized training in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, development, employee relations, safety, training, and preventive labor relations.
