Job Description - Non-Residential Specialist

Description

Job Summary: Provides support to non-residential students from pre-arrival through 12 months after separation.

Duties:

  • Develop resource network for non-residential students i.e. childcare, social services, etc. 
  • Contact each non-residential student prior to enrollment to ensure students’ needs are met to allow student to complete the program.  
  • Make referrals to address non-residential students immediate needs to allow complete participation in the program. 
  • Maintain attendance accountability for non-residential students.
  • Implement the Behavior Management Plan for the non-residential students including monitoring and disposition.  
  • Distribute transportation passes and reconcile monthly.  
  • Participate in the center Behavior Management Team.
  • Collaborate with Career Counselor to ensure non-residential student needs are met. 
  • Provide monthly training for non-residential students. 
  • Research and provide recreational activity opportunities for non-residential students. 
  • Provide oversight of the Non-Residential SGA Committee. 
  • Conducts Unauthorized Absences (UA) retrieval. Travel required and home visits.
  • Support placement and follow up activities.
  • Maintains accountability of property, adheres to safety practices, and performs safety inspections in area of responsibility.
  • Complies with all Department of Labor (DOL) guidelines, Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) regulations, Job Corps notices and bulletins, and Insights Training Group, LLC policies and procedures.
  • Model, Mentor and Monitor each of the Job Corps Career Success Standards.   
  • Helps students become more employable through continuous reinforcement.
  • Participates in PRH mandated staff training. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Above average public speaking skills and experience in same; above average verbal and written skills; above average problem solving and conflict resolution skills; computer literacy; ability to work some evening hours and periodic weekends. 

Education: Degree from a four-year college or university and/or related experience in Juvenile Justice or Human Services preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements

Experience: One-year related experience preferred. 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid State Driver’s License

Specific vision capabilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level can vary from moderate to loud.
