POSITION SUMMARY:


Under the supervision of the Principal, the Clerk performs a variety of clerical duties and performs other related tasks as required by the administrative or other supervisory staff. 


 


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Assists with data entry functions for the student information system, including, but not limited to, demographics and attendance.

  • Greets and checks in guests, completing a security check and issuing visitor badges.

  • Communicates with instructional personnel regarding a variety of topics.

  • Assists with the process of student registration including parent completion of registration forms upon entry and student withdrawal forms upon exit.

  • Performs front office duties such as answering phone calls, checking in guests, and addressing student needs.

  • Assists with SIS access for parents.

  • Maintains confidentiality of student information and records.

  • Supports and acts in accordance with all Bay Haven Charter Academy, Inc. Board of Directors goals, objectives and policies, and other federal and state laws.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.



QUALIFICATIONS:



  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Data entry experience in a school setting is preferred.

  • Experience working with FOCUS is preferred.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Ability to multitask.

  • Great oral and written communication skills.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel).

  • Knowledge of state and federal laws that apply to the duties of this position.

  • Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions within the scope of the position.

  • Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions.

  • Ability to maintain strict organization and student confidentiality.


 


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:



  • Varied activities including sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting, and reaching for extended periods of time.

  • Periodic need to lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 25 pounds and/or perform a two-person lift greater than 50 pounds.





WORK ENVIRONMENT:



  • Work is generally performed in a fast-paced, high volume, school/office environment.

  • Must be able to tolerate varying environmental conditions including, but not limited to heat, cold, rain, etc.

  • Must be able to tolerate frequent interruptions from administrators, staff members, students, and others.



TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Occasional travel to various school, district, state, and/or community events may be required.
