Job Description - Northern Arizona Regional Program Manager

Description

Summary

The Regional Program Manager for HOPE, Inc. oversees program operations for a designated region. For Northern Arizona, this includes HOPE operations and services in Yavapai and Navajo counties. This position, under the direction of the Senior Director of Community Programs and Chief Clinical Officer, promotes a recovery-based approach to treatment for members that emphasizes hope, respect, self-direction and empowerment. By providing peer support, education on community resources and other support and rehabilitation services, this position and subordinates, aid in members’ recovery from mental illness and/or substance use disorders. 

Essential Duties

  • Assists in the creation and expansion of HOPE programming in the Northern Arizona region, promotes the culture of recovery in the community by engaging members, family members and stakeholders.
  • Engages potential members identified as needing services, through community outreach and engagement at transition points in the community, including but not limited to hospitals, inpatient settings, detox, homeless shelters, and community jails.
  • Provides peer support to member in an inpatient setting, coordinating with hospital inpatient staff, and assists in discharge planning. 
  • Provides follow-up care and support to members as needed, to ensure members do not recidivate or go back to incarceration or an inpatient setting.
  • Relates own recovery process in a positive and supportive manner through coaching, role modeling and mentoring in order to establish or strengthen member’s recovery; models this support for other staff.
  • Assist member with enrolling in a health home or other community resources if needed, coordinates with primary care or health home to ensure effective service delivery, and coordinates/ participates in Adult Recovery Team (ART) meetings as needed. 
  • Support member in attending follow up doctor’s appointments, providing transport if needed, utilizing agency vehicle.  
  • Ensures staff are trained and completing crisis and wellness plans with members as a tool to help member utilize community supports and resources.  
  • Ensures communication between HOPE staff and other members of the members’ clinical team regarding members’ level of independent functioning and current levels of support provided.
  • Ensures completion of documentation for behavioral health record in accordance with agency and funding source requirements.
  • Assists in interviewing, selection, and training of new employees.
  • Ensures compliance with AHCCCS, AZDHS, and health plan requirements.
  • Completes special assignments assigned by Supervisor
  • Introduces and orients new staff in hospital and inpatient settings.
  • Ensure compliance with and support of Executive directives, Agency contracts and established policies and procedures.
  • Promotes HOPE, Inc. as the premier peer support organization to the behavioral health community and prospective funding sources.  
  • Performs other related duties in accordance with agency growth, departments, and changes.

Requirements

  • Must qualify as a Behavioral Health Technician under AZDHS guidelines. 
  • High School/GED + 4 years’ behavioral health experience or 
  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in a behavioral health related field + 2 years’ professional experience.
  • 2 years' experience in a management role, preferably supervising staff who are geographically spread out or work remotely.
  • Graduation from Peer Support training, required within one year of employment
  • (Required) Peer - Individuals must have first- hand knowledge of a behavioral health condition or substance abuse issue, whether or not they received treatment or medication or identify as a family member of someone in recovery.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and organizational skills 
  • Ability to implement organization-wide activities (setting objectives, developing strategies, developing policies and procedures for programming, and organizing the functions necessary to accomplish the activities) 
  • Valid Arizona Driver’s license, Driver’s license is an essential requirement for performing duties for this position with a Clean Motor Vehicle Record - no more than 2 moving violations or a license suspension in past 3 years.
  • Current 1st Aid and CPR certification
  • Proof of TB within the last year
  • Fingerprint Clearance required for hospital admission.
