Bilingual Receptionist Needed for San Antonio, Tx. (78201)

Position Summary: Greets agency visitors and answers multiple incoming phone lines.

Tasks:

• Greets people as they enter the Agency.
• Answer multiple incoming phone lines.
• Able to answer general information questions.
• Screens visitors.
• Handles shipping and postal services for staff.
• Handles issuance of employee ID badge.
• Observes confidentiality policies at all times.
• Performs other duties as needed, including assisting with files, typing documents, and data entry for staff.

• Willingness to work with patients and their families.
• Able to work independently. Includes time management skills in being able to manage one’s own time and the time of others.
• Excellent interpersonal relations skills, including active listening skills such as giving full attention to what others are saying, taking time to understand points being made, and asking questions as appropriate.
• Able to access and communicate with health care professionals, clients, families, and the general public.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, as appropriate for the needs of the audience.

Experience and Education:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Six months to one year of receptionist or office setting experience.
• Must be able to read, write, and maintain simple records in English.
• Demonstrated knowledge of basic computer skills and office software. Must be able to type 35 wpm with 80% accuracy.
• Bilingual (Spanish).

Physical Requirements:

• Sitting in a normal seated position for extended periods of time.
• Reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction.
• Able to lift weights in excess of 25 pounds.
• Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with words, hand(s) or arm(s); for example, using the keyboard.
• Communication skills using the spoken word.
• Ability to see within normal parameters.
• Ability to hear within normal range.
• Ability to move about.
