Job Description - Nuclear Engineer (3617)

Navarro Research and Engineering is recruiting a Nuclear Engineer (3617).

Location Notice: The specific work location for this position has not yet been confirmed by our client. We will update all applicants and this job posting as soon as the location is determined.

Duration: This is a contract position supporting design of auxiliary systems for a Small Modular Reactor. Duration is not known at this time.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as liaison with reactor core/system design team regarding auxiliary interfaces (e.g., Emergency Core Cooling, I&C, instrumentation).
  • Clarify nuclear safety requirements for auxiliary systems integration.
  • Analyze system behavior under accident and transient conditions.
  • Contribute to licensing documentation and safety basis for auxiliary system interfaces.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Nuclear Engineering.
  • 3+ years working with PWR systems or SMR projects.
  • Experience with safety analysis, regulatory documentation, and nuclear instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with USNRC or DOE regulatory licensing processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

·      Licensed Professional Engineer
