Nuclear Medicine Registered Nurse (RN)

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with nuclear medicine technologists, radiologists, and the broader care team to coordinate safe and effective nuclear medicine procedures.
  

• Assess patients’ medical history, current condition, and vital signs before procedures, ensuring all pertinent information is shared with the medical team.
  

• Administer radiopharmaceuticals and other medications as ordered, following established protocols.
  

• Monitor patients during and after procedures, responding promptly to adverse reactions or complications.
  

• Provide patient education on procedures, potential side effects, and post-procedure care.
  

• Support patients during imaging studies, offering positioning assistance and emotional reassurance.
  

• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in patient records.
  

• Maintain compliance with radiation safety protocols, including safe handling and disposal of radioactive materials.
  

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing education to stay current with nuclear medicine advancements.
  

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia.
  

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  

• Previous experience in nuclear medicine or a related specialty strongly preferred.
  

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
