Job Description - Nuclear Medicine Technologist - Inpatient

Highlights:

Summary: The Nuclear Medicine Technologist shall be provide timely and courteous services to patients, physicians, and hospital staff by performing Nuclear Medicine procedures accurately and efficiently. This individual will detect unusual conditions and assume responsiblity to problem solve. The Technologist will maintain instruments and troubleshoot when necessary. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.
Education/Experience: Graduate of a School of Nuclear Medicine Technology or School of Radiologic Technology required.
License/Certification: Active ARRT (N) or CNMT licensure required, BLS required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Must possess reasoning ability and good independent judgement.
• Must have the ability to work within rigid time constraints.
• Must remain aware of patient condition at all times.
• Must demonstrate effective communication skills.Work Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Position requires 10% light work (lifting 20lbs max.) involving committee meetings and work performed at a desk handling administrative duties, and 90% of the work is lifting carrying pushing and pulling of patients, equipment and supplies while preparing and performing studies.
The ability to stoop, kneel, crouch and balance are needed to setup and adjust equipment and in the positioning of patients.
Continuously exhibits manual dexterity, mobility and ability to hear and distinguish colors.
Continuous ability to communicate effectively and occasionally push, pulls or lift up to 150 lbs.
There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person.
Visual acuity, both far (clarity up to 20 feet) and near (clarity to 20 inches) and distinguish color is vital to all aspects of these duties.
Must be able to listen and respond to instructions from physician and staff.
Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels.
Much exposure to computer work.
Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock.
Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks.
Some exposure to hazardous chemicals. Occasional exposure to radiation.
