Description of Work
This position is responsible for the development, coordination, and teaching of the Nursing Departmental orientation program and for performing unit-based orientation. This position serves as the Nurse Educator/Preceptor for all new RN’s and LPNs. The position also performs competency checkoffs for Professional Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Health Care Technicians. The position serves as a resource for increasing performance in staff requiring assistance in reaching their potential within their job role.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
Salary Range: $62,044 - $102,371
Recruitment Range: $80,000 - $95,224
*A Sign-on bonus of $10,000 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting, contingent on the 2025-2026 Budget Approval.

*Ability to effectively teach nursing staff and other employees as appropriate through orientation and on-the-go job training
This position is Exempt from all provisions of NC General Statute Chapter 126 with the exception of Articles 6 and 7. State Human Resources Act (GS 126)
This Position Is Designated as Mandatory And Must Report Or Stay Over During Adverse Weather Events.
*Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus
To qualify for the Sign-on Bonus, a newly hired permanent full-time or permanent part-time employee must work 30 to 40 hours per week to be eligible. Those who are eligible and working less than 40 hours a week will receive a prorated rate.
