Gateway Rehab Center (GRC) has an INCREDIBLE opportunity for a Nurse Educator!  In this role, you will focus on the professional development for both new and current GRC nurses.  This is a bonified mobile-travel position to our inpatient centers throughout the Pittsburgh, PA region.  IDEAL CANDIATE MUST LIVE IN SOUTHWESTERN, PA. 

Responsibilities

• Participates in the coordination and continuity of orientation programs. 
• Designs training materials and provides mentorship to staff nurses. 
• Works closely with Nursing Management within the enterprise to facilitate and implement quality and performance improvement initiatives.
• Conducts and analyzes formal and informal learning needs with leadership and staff.
• Develops and implements annual competency and education plan(s).  
• Plans, develops, implements and evaluates educational programs and utilizes methods, measurements and tools to evaluate achievement of learning goals.  
• Performs other duties as assigned or required, including direct patient care.
• Coordinates with all GRC departments as appropriate.
• Attends GRC mandatory in-services and trainings.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

• Ability to operate various office and safety equipment.
• Must be competent in use of various healthcare equipment and measurement devices.

• Must have an Unrestricted Pennsylvania RN licensure.
• 2 years of recent critical care experience is preferred. 
• Active CPR/First Aid certification

Preferred Requirements 

• CPR instructor certification
• Certification in area of specialty- relevant experience in Substance Use Disorder Treatments
• Experience with development of educations, competencies and presentations

Other Requirements 

• Pass a PA Criminal Background Check
• Obtain PA Child Abuse and FBI Fingerprinting Clearances
• Pass Drug Screen
• TB Test History Record check, Childline, and FBI clearances required.

Work Conditions 

• Travel to our Inpatient Substance Use Disorder Rehab Centers in the Pittsburgh, PA region. 
• Potential exposure to blood borne pathogens and respiratory infectious agents.
• Moderate physical demands.
• Significant mental demands.
•  This position requires the employee to remain awake and alert while on duty.
