Job Summary

Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital, the only Level III Trauma Center in the Katy area and a Magnet-recognized facility, is seeking a Nurse Educator to support our Level III NICU and Pediatric IMU teams including running the campus NRP and PALS programs, managing day-to-day responsibilities of the NICU/Pedi units and program designation needs.

Qualifications:
• BSN required
• Minimum 2 years of Level III or IV NICU experience
• Current BLS and NRP certifications
• Previous education experience (charge, preceptor, champion, mentor, etc.) preferred

Schedule:
• Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week
• No weekends or holidays
• Flexible to support occasional education-related events
• Fully onsite position (no remote option)

Position is responsible for executing educational experiences that facilitate the promotion of competent and quality patient care. Supports clinical employees in their efforts to acquire knowledge and skills, and in their professional development. Typically reports to the campus Manager or Director of Clinical Education and Professional Development.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.

Licenses/Certifications: 

• Current State of Texas license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

• Two (2) years of nursing experience required.

• One (1) year education related experience preferred.

• Effective oral and written communication skills.

• Facilities learning, change and professional role competence and growth.
• Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
• Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as a resource to less experienced staff.
