Nurse Manager Emergency Services

Heartline Staffing, Strategic Talent Partners with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager – Emergency Services for a permanent leadership opportunity in Panama City, Florida.

This role is responsible for supporting day-to-day emergency department operations while providing direct leadership to clinical staff. The Nurse Manager collaborates closely with the Emergency Department Director and medical staff to ensure high-quality patient care, staff development, and operational excellence in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for day-to-day emergency department operations.

• Manage and supervise department staff, including performance management, conflict resolution, and policy compliance.

• Collaborate with the Emergency Department Director on staffing, scheduling, and operational needs.

• Participate in department and hospital committees and support staff involvement as appropriate.

• Assess training needs and assist with implementation of staff development programs.

• Support onboarding and orientation of new employees in collaboration with preceptors.

• Maintain strong clinical knowledge related to emergency nursing practice, equipment, and departmental policies.

• Ensure completion of unit quality checks, including crash carts, temperature logs, and other regulatory indicators.

• Assist with clinical procedures as needed and support patient flow and case management.

• Collect and analyze operational and quality data to support performance improvement initiatives.

• Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Department Scope

• Emergency Department with 44 beds

• Daily volume approximately 140–180 patients

• Oversees approximately 55.8 FTEs

Compensation

Annual Salary Range (Based on Experience)

• $86,000 (minimum)

• $104,000 (mid-range, approximately 10 years of experience)

• $116,000 (15+ years of experience)

Additional Information

• Active, unrestricted Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license or valid compact licensure.

• Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma from an accredited institution required.

• Enrollment in a BSN program required.

• Minimum of 3–5 years of recent (within the last year) acute care Emergency Department leadership experience.

• Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS) certification required within 30 days of employment start date.

• Strong leadership, communication, and operational management skills.

• Ability to manage high-volume emergency department environments effectively.
