Salary Range: $85,000–$100,000 (based on experience)
The Opportunity
You'll lead nursing operations in a Special Needs Unit within a Long Term Care facility, reporting directly to the Director of Nursing. This role puts you at the center of quality patient care, team development, and clinical excellence. You'll supervise a multidisciplinary team including CNAs, LPNs, RNs, and Unit Clerks while shaping care delivery that makes a measurable difference in residents' lives.

Your Day-to-Day

You will:
Lead your nursing team to meet organizational objectives and DOH requirements
Coordinate care across departments through interdisciplinary collaboration
Allocate resources to deliver efficient, compassionate, and fiscally responsible nursing care
Participate in recruitment, selection, and retention of personnel
Ensure appropriate orientation, education, credentialing, and continuing professional development
Build effective relationships with staff, patients, families, physicians, and the healthcare team
Assess departmental needs, develop interventions, and evaluate outcomes
Manage multiple priorities and projects while meeting deadlines
Provide age-appropriate, population-specific care tailored to each resident's unique needs
What We're Looking For
Required:
Graduate from an accredited Registered Professional Nurse Program
Current NYS License to practice as a Professional Registered Nurse
At least 2 years recent Nurse Manager experience in a Long Term Care facility
Two years of nursing experience or Long Term Care experience
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Knowledge of management systems, DOH requirements, and analytical problem-solving
Computer literacy with word processing, spreadsheets, and PowerPoint
Preferred:
Experience with Special Needs Units
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Meditech
