Role Overview

• 24/7 responsibility and accountability for the Cardiac Stepdown Unit
• Develops and ensures individualized, goal-directed nursing care following the nursing process and evidence-based practice
• Promotes patient safety and compliance with Infection Prevention and Joint Commission standards
• Selects, leads, and manages unit-based staff to optimize performance
• Manages operational budget and maintains expenses within target
• Fosters professional growth, lifelong learning, and community involvement
• Tracks and reports patient safety trends; ensures staff understand significant incident reporting guidelines

ABOUT THE FACILITY:

• 600+ bed acute care facility with more than 2,000 employees and 1,400+ physicians
• Services include cardiovascular care, bariatric surgery, cancer treatment, Level III NICU, burn care, and more
• First Level I Trauma Center and Burn Center in Collin County
• Recognized as a Comprehensive Stroke Center

Requirements

• Education:  
  • BSN required
  • MSN or Master's in related field preferred
• Licensure/Certification:  
  • Valid Texas RN license or compact state license
  • National Specialty Certification or commitment to obtain within 1 year
  • BLS and ACLS as per department requirements
• Experience:  
  • Minimum 2 years in nursing management
