The role

The Nurse Navigator I plays a foundational role in shaping the client experience. This role focuses on remotely coordinating specific client needs, supporting the intake process, building co-created care plans, and serving as the primary clinical support for a dedicated caseload. You’ll triage inbound inquiries from independent nurse contractors and clients, coordinate with interdisciplinary providers and 3rd party contacts, and maintain clear communication with clients and families. This position is ideal for RNs who enjoy virtual care coordination, clinical problem-solving, task prioritization, and creating trust through strong, empathetic communication. Note: While this role does not require routine field travel or in-person responsibilities, travel to the office or client sites may be required on occasion based on business needs. 

What you’ll do

• Conduct virtual intake assessments and build co-created care plans for a wide variety of clients.


• Manage the ongoing clinical needs for an assigned caseload.


• Triage inbound questions from nurse contractors; provide clinical support and guidance.


• Appropriately escalate client concerns to Lead Navigator or the Nursing Manager.


• Communicate proactively with clients, families, providers, and clinical nurses regarding updates, changes, and next steps.


• Maintain high-quality, timely documentation and charting.


• Support care coordination between clients, nurse contractors, and internal teams.


• Serve as a brand ambassador for the Navi experience with warmth, clarity, and high-touch service.


• Participate in internal meetings, QA initiatives, and process improvements.

Who you are

• Registered Nurse (AZ), unencumbered.


• 4+ years of direct client care experience, including at least 1 year in acute care within the last 5 years.


• Current AHA BLS and/or ACLS.


• ASN or higher from an accredited nursing program.


• Comfortable providing primarily virtual client support.


• Excellent phone and digital communication skills.


• Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment.


• Tech-fluent: Google Suite, EHR platforms, telehealth tools, and quick to adopt new systems.


• Thrives in a fast-paced, autonomous, startup environment.


• Completion of 20+ hours of in-person training at Navi HQ or equivalent.


• Navi contractors with 6+ months experience are highly encouraged to apply.

Bonus points

• Independent RN Contractors with at least 6 months of working with Navi Nurses are HIGHLY encouraged to apply.


• Excitement to adapt to the changing responsibilities of this role as Navi Nurses continues to expand.

Location & Hours

• Hybrid remote role; must have laptop, phone, and reliable internet.


• Initial training occurs at Navi HQ (Phoenix).


• 40 hours/week, Sunday-Wednesday 8AM-6PM.


• Overnight on-call coverage (remote) required 2 nights/week in case of clinical escalations.


• Alternative/flexible scheduling may be required for coverage or operational demands.


• Travel to the office or client sites may be required for coverage.
