The Surgical Critical Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) practices in the Surgical Critical Care unit in the Operative Care Division at the Portland Medical Center. The Surgical Critical Care NP is an independent member of the Medical Staff, with delineated clinical privileges. The incumbent executes responsibilities that demonstrate leadership, experience, and creative approaches to management of a complex client care. The incumbent participates as needed in Process and Quality Improvement projects and programs within the Surgical Critical Care Program.

Preferred candidate will possess the following:

1. Experience in complex inpatient and specialty care (ex. Cardiology)

2. Completed a VA Internship

NOTE: Must possess or be willing to obtain a Nurse Practitioner license for the State of Oregon 

Applicant's education and experience will be reviewed by a Nursing Professional Standards Board in determining the grade and salary of the applicant selected. The recommended salary may be at any point in the range listed for this vacancy.
