Nurse Practitioner

Job Description - Nurse Practitioner

Our state-of-the-art treatment center provides the highest quality care for patients of all ages and medical needs. We are leaders in diagnosing, treating, and defeating gynecologic cancer, with a multidisciplinary team that delivers superior medical treatment in a deeply supportive environment.

SWWO is also proud to be a fellowship training partner with the University of New Mexico, fostering the next generation of gynecologic oncologists through hands-on education and mentorship. This partnership reflects our commitment to advancing the field of gynecologic oncology and ensuring the highest standard of care for our patients.

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) – to join our high-performance team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our gynecologic oncologists and clinical team to provide comprehensive care to our patients. This includes conducting patient assessments, managing treatment plans, assisting in surgeries, and ensuring continuity of care throughout the patient journey.

This position offers a balance of clinical, surgical, and research opportunities, working within Albuquerque’s two major health systems. Surgical assisting experience is preferred but not required, and training will be provided to ensure a smooth transition into our specialized practice.

  • Conduct patient evaluations, follow-up visits, and pre- and post-operative assessments.
  • Assist in surgical procedures, including robotic-assisted gynecologic oncology surgeries.
  • Provide patient education, counseling, and coordination of care.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and Registered Nurses, to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Participate in clinical research through our Optimum Clinical Research Group, with opportunities to contribute to studies and publications.
  • Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) with licensure in New Mexico or eligibility for licensure.
  • Preferably with prior surgical assisting experience (though not required).
  • Passion for women’s health and oncology care.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with a patient-centered approach.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume practice environment.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision insurance, along with competitive vacation/PTO annually.
  • Health & Wellness: Access to the Optimum Human Performance Center, featuring AI-driven fitness equipment, recovery modalities, group fitness classes, and body composition tracking

Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in women's health and be part of a dedicated, high-caliber team? We look forward to welcoming a compassionate and driven NP to Southwest Women’s Oncology.
