Salary range for this position is $120,500 - $145,700 / Year.

DUTY STATEMENT AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Functions

Provide healthcare services typically performed by a physician under the supervision of a physician. Conduct complete physicals, provide treatment and counsel clients. May, in some cases, prescribe medication. 

  • Responsible for overseeing Detox patients.
  • 5 days per week – conduct Intakes- upon intake, meet face to face, conduct physicals, prescribe step-down medications.
  • Daily rounds with all detox clients with notation in KIPU – confirm Medical Necessity daily - Determine when appropriate to transition to 3.5.
  • Sign Treatment plans within 24 hours 
  • Conduct physicals for all Residential and Outpatient Clients within the first 30 days of Treatment.
  • Provide Medicated Assisted Treatment as appropriate (determine when could benefit patient, counsel clients on benefits, etc.) 
  • Provide refills for existing psych meds when clients cannot be seen by a Psychiatrist in a timely manner. 
  • See clients with minor (non-emergency) medical complaints and provide care as appropriate.
  • Conduct training for staff at least quarterly, possibly more often, depending on needs.
  • Attend Treatment Team bi-weekly as needed (initial 15-30 minutes to give insight/input) 
  • Help draft and implement policies and procedures relevant to the Medical Department.
  • Provide quality service to clients as required by Cedar House Life Change Center, State, and County Requirements. 
  • Maintain timely and reliable attendance.
  • Perform life-saving measures when needed to protect the lives of Cedar House clients and employees. 
  • Provide leadership for the medical team when on duty.

Requirements

What you'll bring:

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

  • 5 years of practice in clinical and/or residential settings (preferred).
  • Experience in the treatment of SUD is highly desirable.

Education:

  • Completed twelve years of education or have a GED.
  • Complete continuing education and trainings as required by Cedar House, County, and State mandates.
  • Maintain current CPR/First Aid/AED.
  • Registration with SAM.Gov as an attestation of non-debarment or suspension from Medi-Cal

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Familiarity with DHCS regulations regarding DMC – ODS
  • Understanding of addiction medicine and SUD Treatment – and issues that accompany diagnoses associated with SUD and Co-0ccurring disorders.
  • Understanding of Medicated Assisted Treatment in Residential and Outpatient Settings

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. They will also need to move around inside the office occasionally to access filing cabinets, office machinery, medical supplies, etc. The employee must be capable of operating a computer and other productivity machinery. There may be occasions where the employee needs to climb up or down a ladder or equipment and position themselves to maintain files in file cabinets and necessary medical supplies. It is essential for the employee to communicate information and ideas clearly so that others can understand. They must also be able to provide accurate information in these situations. The employee should be able to observe details at close range and occasionally move boxes weighing up to 40 pounds (individually) for various reasons. Additionally, the employee may need to work around or be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
