Position Overview:

The Juvenile Justice Intervention Center (JJIC), operated by the City of New Orleans, is a secure detention facility for youth awaiting court proceedings or placement. JJIC provides trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate medical and behavioral health care to residents, many of whom present with complex needs. We are seeking dedicated healthcare and behavioral health professionals to join our on-site team, delivering high-quality care 24/7 in compliance with state, federal, and juvenile justice standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct intake screenings and health assessments.
• Provide acute, chronic, and preventive care.
• Prescribe medications and monitor treatment plans.
• Collaborate with behavioral health staff on co-morbid conditions.

Qualifications:

• Education: Master’s in Nursing (NP)
• Licensure:
• Active Louisiana NP License
• National NP Certification
• Experience: Adolescent/Correctional healthcare (preferred)
• Technical Skills: Health assessment, medication management
• Soft Skills: Cultural competency, trauma-informed practice, crisis intervention
