Job Description - Nurse Practitioner

Job Overview

This role offers an opportunity to provide comprehensive primary care to incarcerated individuals in a structured clinical setting. You will manage acute and chronic conditions, work closely with healthcare and facility staff, and contribute to quality patient care in a correctional environment. Key Responsibilities â Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations â Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions â Provide sick-call coverage and same-day medical evaluations â Develop and monitor treatment plans â Educate patients regarding medications, disease management, and preventive healthcare â Maintain accurate documentation within the NextGen EMR system â Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and facility staff to ensure quality patient care Schedule and Shift Details â 4-day work week, day shift, no weekends, standard holiday schedule Travel â Travel stipend provided for providers traveling more than 50 miles from primary residence

Requirements

Qualifications

Master's degree or higher

Primary Care (1+ years)

Care Management (1+ years)

1+ years of experience in ANY of the following:
- Correctional Care
- Correctional Medicine

Valid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)

ANY of the following valid licenses/certifications:
- Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
- Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP)
- Nurse Practitioner (NP)

ANY of the following valid licenses/certifications:
- American Red Cross Basic Life Support (ARC BLS)
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS)
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA ACLS)
