Job Description - Nurse Practitioner (Gastroenterology)


Job title: Nurse Practitioner (Gastroenterology)
Location:   VA Central Iowa Health Care Systems, 3600 30th Street, Des Moines, IA 50310.
Schedule:  Tuesday to Friday, 07:00 – 17:00
Duties:
  • Provide direct patient care to individuals with gastrointestinal conditions, including but not limited to consultations, assessments, treatment planning, and follow-up care.
  • Perform thorough physical examinations, obtain medical histories, and order appropriate diagnostic tests and procedures under the guidance of supervising physicians.
  • Assist in clinic settings, including outpatient GI clinics, to support physicians in delivering timely and efficient care to patients.
Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in Gastroenterology, with demonstrated proficiency in assessing, diagnosing, and managing GI disorders.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
