Job Summary:

The Nurse Practitioner will plan, direct, and evaluate patient care in our Gastroenterology clinic. Responsibilities include examining and treating chronic and acute gastrointestinal illnesses, managing minor injuries related to GI conditions, and performing selected laboratory tests. The NP will offer referrals to physicians, write prescriptions, and perform office procedures within their scope of expertise and available resources.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations of patients with gastrointestinal disorders.
• Diagnose and manage common GI conditions such as acid reflux, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, and liver disease.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including lab work and imaging studies.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management and lifestyle modifications.
• Educate patients and their families about GI health, treatment options, and preventive care.
• Collaborate with physicians, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records (EHR).
• Participate in patient education programs and community outreach initiatives.
• Stay current with advancements in GI health and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives within the clinic.
• May travel to other CLS clinics as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Gastroenterology.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient education and empowerment.
