Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant | Interventional Radiology Reporting to Clinical Lead - Interventional Radiology

Radiology Imaging Associates (RIA) is comprised of over 100 radiologists. All with exceptional skill and expertise, most are fellowship-trained in their field of specialty for additional certification. We are dedicated to accurate and efficient patient diagnosis no matter their condition. Our interventional radiologists perform some of the most leading-edge treatments available today. We partner with primary care physicians and hospitals across Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, and Hawaii to provide a resource for both patients and physicians.
IR Inpatient Responsibilities:
Perform daily rounds on inpatients
Write notes at time of assessment
Review cases with Interventional Radiologist
Maintain clinical rounding reports
Complete notes on patients including pertinent findings (vitals, access site evaluation, lab results, other x-ray studies, plan)
Responsible for the following on same day admits:
See patient
Review labs
Dictate admission H&P
Communicates with radiology staff including nursing and technologists and clinic staff to provide patient information, contact information, ongoing status and follow up information, procedure performed, etc. on IR patients requiring outpatient follow up
Gathers data (labs, physical exam, history) on new patient consultations and reviews pertinent information with consulting MD. Must complete dictation of consultation by the end of the same day as the consult was ordered
Assistance with IR marketing projects including identifying potential marketing targets, development of new marketing tools and attendance at marketing events
Ensure patient follow up appointment is arranged prior to discharge
Dictates discharge summary (if admitted under IR service) by end of same day
Performs vascular access procedures such as, but not limited to, PICC line insertion, port placement/removals, dialysis catheters, paracentesis and thoracentesis. Other minor procedures include line removals, drain removals, and G-tube removals
Assist in education of staff as applicable
Regularly attend GI conference, Tumor board, Grand Rounds as applicable
Maintain credentialing and privileges at all covered hospitals
All job duties and procedures performed must be within the scope of practice for this position based on the terms of the professional license
Must be able to provide documentation and demonstrate training and competence to provide specific services when required
Maintain values congruent with the Code of Ethics as well as adhering to national, institutional and /or departmental standards, policies and procedures regarding the standards of care for patients
Outpatient Clinic Responsibilities:
Perform consultation with new patients for varicose vein treatments, inpatient interventional procedures etc.
Educate patient regarding possible procedure including risks, benefits and alternatives.
Manage medications pre and post procedure.
Perform follow up office visits after inpatient procedures, various vein procedures etc.
Perform sclerotherapy including ultrasound and vein light guided foam and cosmetic sclerotherapy.
Review venous insufficiency ultrasounds and formulate treatment plan with interventional radiologist
Actively maintain various databases.
Assist with IR research studies and outpatient follow up gathering pertinent data and submitting in a timely fashion.
Communicate with referring providers regarding treatment plans and patient care management.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None
Experience/Skill Requirements:
Minimum of 1 year experience as an NP or PA required; Radiology experience preferred
Experience with IVs and minor procedures
Exceptional patient skills
Prescriptive authority (if applicable) and DEA registration
Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to commute from hospitals and clinic. Requires a valid Colorado driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Education Requirements:
Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program
National certification as an Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
ACLS or ability to obtain
Annualized salary is between $127,000 and $134,500 depending on qualifications.
In accordance with Colorado law, the range provided is Radiology Imaging Associate’s reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role, and is based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Applications will be received on an ongoing basis, and this position will remain open until filled.

Full-time employees will become eligible for benefits on the 1st day of the month following 30 days of employment. Part-time employees may have access to some of these benefits, which may be on a pro-rated basis. PRN employees are not eligible for benefits.
