Nurse Practitioner - Physician Assistant

Vivo HealthStaff has been retained by a large non-profit women’s health organization providing reproductive health services across Northern California. New Grad Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants are encouraged to apply. Women’s Health Nurse Practitioners and Certified Nurse-Midwives are also encouraged to apply.

Our client has an intensive training program for new clinicians interested in pursuing a career in women’s healthcare. Ideal applicants have the interest to serve those in need and in rural areas.

Services and duties provided:

1. Reviews & interprets the medical and social history of both male and female reproductive health patients.

2. Performs appropriate medical screening procedures/exams for both male and female patients.

3. Interprets laboratory data, orders additional laboratory investigations when indicated and ensures appropriate follow-up.

4. Provides contraceptive methods: contraceptives that are self-administered (no procedure required); Provides/oversees contraceptive injections.

5. Provides emergency contraception.

6. Performs medical assessment and management of basic STI and genito-urinary conditions for both male and female patients.

7. Provides perimenopausal and menopausal services.

8. Provides medical management for complications related to abortion and sterilization.

9. Provides medication abortion, as indicated.

10. Manages emergency situations in the center.

11. Participates in staff meetings relating to center management and provides staff training in current medical procedures which are relevant to reproductive health.

12. Contributes to achieving health center productivity goals.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program; graduation from a Women’s Health NP or Certified Nurse Midwife program is also acceptable.

• Active BLS certification.
